Kinky Holiday Fantasia (sixth annual evening of fun-themed performance scenes)

at SFCitadel, 1277 Mission St, at Ninth St, San Francisco

This annual event is both a kinky performance and a playshop for those who wish to participate.

An evening of holiday perversion is the perfect antidote to the ongoing saccharin Christmas mall onslaught. We take several holiday themes, and base kinky scenes on them. Amid the fun, we explain the various exotic techniques used. We also teach those interested how to pervert their own favorite traditions.

Bring your toybag if you wish. There may also be volunteer demo model opportunities. Santa Rich Trove may slide down the alley, for those who haven't been Naughty enough yet, or who want to tell Santa just what they need.

Sip hot chocolate or mulled cider, and munch cookies. Watch hot scenes. Typical scenes include Living Buffet, Jingle Boobs, a living Christmas tree, Angels we have Hung on High, living Christmas Presents, a Victorian caning, a living menorah, St. Lucy, and seasonal bondage fashions. Each show contains new material, plus your old favorites. Learn more techniques, such as sewing ornaments onto skin, decorative bondage, candle play, and quick-release bondage.

A heart-warming evening for the whole leather family. Feel free to wear your holiday finest, whether that’s as a Snowflake, Elf, Santa, Victorian Schoolboy, Nutcracker, Dreidl, Tannenbaum, Ornament, Solstice Priestess, Ski Bunny, Scrooge, Marley in chains, or holiday pervert. Costumes admired but not required. Clothing optional. This evening will give you plenty of inspiration to get through more mundane holiday parties.

“Can they really show that on stage?”

“Your best value in adult holiday edutainment.”

“The emphasis is on 'anyone can do it'.”

“That's how Rudolf’s butt got so red.”

“If you attend only one all-pervert, pan-sexual, pan-theist, three-ring, participatory, kinky holiday cabaret this season, attend this one.”

= =

Angela and Iain are officers in the Society of Janus, Dungeon Monitors for SF Citadel and elsewhere, and teach BDSM classes at all levels, at many venues. Their style combines humor and approachability with clarity and thorough research.

Reservations not required. Membership not required. Participation not required. You don't need to bring or wear anything special. If time is tight, you can bring dinner to eat during the event. Some snacks will be provided. The event is open to anyone 18 years and older with a sincere, positive, personal interest in BDSM / leather / kink. All roles, genders, and orientations welcome. Kinky Foreplay can be so much more than "Hand me that flogger". Tonight we hone our skills at using BDSM mindsets to arouse our partner. We show types of foreplay that can be initiated by top or bottom. How to use aggression, fear, service, vulnerability, and more to heat things up right from the start. These techniques can be used before or durning a BDSM scene, or for vanilla sex.

This is a hands-on playshop. With a partner, you'll try guided techniques at whatever is your personal comfort level. It's preferable to arrange a partner in advance, perhaps using our tribe or fetlife group.

The evening has three parts (times approximate):
7 - 7:30 Brown Bag Munch
7:30 - 9:30 Presentations and Guided Hands-on exercises
9:30 - 10:30 Open practice or play.

Paideia (“pie DAY ah”) is a Greek word meaning “learning through play”. Paideia evenings are more than regular workshops. First we socialize. You may bring your dinner or snacks to eat during the munch period. Then we see demos. Then we do the guided hands-on workshop. You’ll mainly work in pairs learning and refining your skills. Then during the open practice period, you may integrate your new skills with other play techniques. Or you may do more practice, or watch the variety of techniques that others practice.

Reservations not required. Membership not required. You don't need to wear anything special. The event is open to anyone 18 years and older with a sincere, positive, personal interest in BDSM / leather / kink. All roles, genders, and orientations welcome. What attendees have said:

"I'm going to use all of it."

"This was very empowering to me as a bottom. And hot too."

“A class, a mini-party, and a munch. The best way to spend a Thursday. I come every month, no matter what the topic.”

“Hot From the Start - Kinky Foreplay” is part of the Paideia series of monthly BDSM/leather events / playshops mainly for those of intermediate or advanced experience. The format combines the best elements of hands-on workshops, a munch, a play party, and a peer workshop. More than twenty topics are covered in these playshops, on both common and exotic topics. We have a core study group who increase the depth and breadth of their play each month, as well as have fun together.

For many people, spanking is their first introduction to kink, but it can be so much more. Spanking provides a specific pleasure/pain connection, due to its focus on the sweet spot. This class covers the range of spanking scenes, including sensual, punishment, role play, and more. We’ll provide demos and step-by-step instructions, from negotiation to positions to pacing to aftercare. Includes tips to help a bottom relax and enjoy the spanking. We’ll cover the emotional impact (and potential pitfalls) of childhood associations. The class is suitable for beginners to aficionados. You’ll always have your toys with you. This is a “hands-on” workshop, not just a lecture and demo. Plenty of spanking time, for those inclined.

The evening has four parts (times approximate):
7 – 7:30 Brown Bag Munch
7:30 – 8 Brief Introduction
8-9:30 Demos and Hands-on Workshop
9:30-10:30 Open practice, using spanking and paddling in a scene of your choice.

You don’t need to bring anything. Souvenir paddles available, but you may also bring your own. Undressing permitted, but not required. You may bring your general toy bag for the open practice period. You might also want to bring a pillow and/or a sheet, towel or blanket.

Partners: Some of tonight’s exercises might be doable alone, but they are much more effective done in pairs. If you want to find a suitable partner in advance, we recommend you join and post on http://edukink.tribe.net and/or http://fetlife.com/groups/1780

Reservations not required. Membership not required. You don't need to wear anything special. The event is open to anyone 18 years and older with a sincere, positive, personal interest in BDSM / leather / kink. All roles, genders, and orientations welcome. If you have questions you may write to edukink at yahoo dot com

= =

Angela and Iain are officers in the Society of Janus, Dungeon Monitors for SF Citadel and elsewhere, and teach BDSM classes at all levels, at many venues. Their teaching style combines humor and approachability with clarity and thorough research.

= =

What past attendees have said:

“So many cheeks, so little time.”

“Paideia offers an amazing array of play styles. I’m really extending my range”

“A class, a mini-party, and a munch. The best way to spend a Thursday. I come every month, no matter what the topic.”

= =

“First Hand: Spanking and Paddling workshop” is part of the Paideia series of monthly BDSM/leather events / workshops mainly for those of intermediate or advanced experience. The format intends to combine the best elements of hands-on workshops, a munch, a play party, and a peer workshop. More than a dozen topics are planned for these workshops, on both common and exotic topics. We have developed a core study group who want to increase the depth and breadth of their play, as well as have fun together.

"I can resist everything except temptation."

It's the Fin de Siecle, and Oscar Wilde is the talk of London.
Following Beau Brummel, he perfected the persona of the dandy.
He is also a celebrated wit.

“I have the simplest tastes. I am always satisfied with the best.”

He made great strides in being out of the closet,
until he became publicly involved with a powerful man's son.

He spent time in exile in Paris and San Francisco.
(Not bad places for it.)

This month, Primal welcomes Oscar back to San Francisco.

"It is an odd thing, but every one who disappears is said to be seen at San Francisco.
It must be a delightful city, and possess all the attractions of the next world."

Wilde created the modern story of Salome, including the seven veil dance.

"It is absurd to divide people into good and bad. People are either charming or tedious."

Come to Primal, Where the Wilde Things Are.

In many cases, people don't get what they need because the words (or lack of words) get in the way. We see people at parties who want to get together, but never quite make it. People in relationships sometimes get stuck, even though both are ready for progress or changes.

This workshop goes beyond the usual checklists. Tonight we teach and practice how to open a conversation, make an offer, give good no/maybe/yes, and how to negotiate for what works for you. Differences between scene and relationship negotiations. How to ending and reopen negotiations. These skills apply from cruising strangers to improving a LTR. We also address negotiating with beginners.

After the negotiation practice period, you're welcome to negotiate and play out a real scene if you like.

This is a hands-on playshop. We'll do guided exercises in negotiation. You may also bring your general toy bag for the open practice period.

This is our 50th Paideia.

The evening has four parts (times approximate):
7 - 7:30 Brown Bag Munch
7:30 - 8:00 Presentations
8:00 - 9:30 Guided Hands-on Negotiation exercises
9:30 - 10:30 Open practice or play.

Paideia (“pie DAY ah”) is a Greek word meaning “learning through play”. Paideia evenings are more than regular workshops. First we socialize. Then during the open practice period, you may integrate your new skills with other play techniques. Or you may do more practice, or watch the variety of techniques that others practice.

Partners: For this class you'll be practicing negotiation with a range of people. Pre-arranged partners not required.

Reservations not required. Membership not required. You don't need to wear anything special. The event is open to anyone 18 years and older with a sincere, positive, personal interest in BDSM / leather / kink. All roles, genders, and orientations welcome. Can’t get enough of ladies in bodices, knights in tights, Scots in kilts, boots everywhere, and the sadistic Border Guardians? Love leather, velvet, and lace? Come storm the Citadel, and join us at SFCitadel's rollicking Renaissance-themed dungeon party.

Adults only. Those who haven’t been to an event at SFCitadel should note that, while this is a warm and safe environment, you’ll be exposed to people exploring some extreme erotic fantasies. This makes Border Guardians look quite tame. Participation not required (or offered). Attendees include RenFaire participants and patrons, SCA members, and regular dungeon dwellers. Beginners please read http://edukink.org/articles/first_parties

This is an open party -- all members and their guests may attend. Renaissance or medieval garb admired, but not required. RSVPs not required. 18+ only. A clean and sober event. Clothing optional - you will be exposed to naked people. BDSM and safer sex permitted. All genders and orientations welcome.
“A charming mix of kinky history and old fashioned debauchery.”

“A highlight of the season. And the best dressed event.”

“Amazing what you can do with codpieces, bodices and hoops.”

 The EU-US Merger Project

Toward:

1)- the Prevention of the Annihilation of Humanity

2)- the Resolution of the World's Major Problems

3)- the Restoration of the Balance of Power on the Planet

4)- the Establishment of World Peace and World Prosperity

5)- the Upgrading of the Global Operating System and the Existence of Humanity

6)- the Rendering of War, Capital Punishment & the Burning of Fossil Fuels Obsolete

7)- the Creation of a Highly Enlightened World Federation

8)- and the Advancement of Civilization

The "timely" solution & advanced global political strategy that i propose (i.e. my very own personal contribution to the evolution of humanity) to solving many if not ALL of the worlds major problems including war, corruption, global warning, poverty, the economy... lies in what i call the "ultimate power move," merging the 2 most powerful governments on the planet, the EU & the US. Precipitating or more accurately quickening the "already-in-motion" Global Unification & Integration process, toward the resolution of the world's major problems, is the overall goal (which includes saving humanity from complete annihilation & destruction of course). Merging the EU & the US will obviously "check" all aberrant countries/nations (North Korea, Syria, Iran...) from doing things they shouldn't otherwise be doing, included in the mix of being checked will be the US & the EU of course. After merging the EU & the US other countries can then be "systematically integrated" as well if they so choose. The "button-up" approach of the "North American Union", that is the US merging with Canada & Mexico, is childs play & essentally "less relevant" compared to the "top-down" approach of an EU-US Merger. The one VERY important caveat/requirement to having a "fully unified & fully integrated planet" is having the "right people" on top, unenlightened heartless half-wits will not only "not do" but they will worsen the already f---ed up & despicable condition of humanity & planet earth & obvioulsy that's a no no. So those impressed with and interested in bankrolling and/or contributing in other ways (i.e. ideas, media attention...) to my Global Business Venture/Independent Work Project you may contact me here. Thanks, Leo (a.k.a. "The Good Borg," "The Way of the Future," "The Director," "Regulator of the Free Market," "True Leader of the Free World," "Commander of the Intergalatic Battle Fleet"...)

Step 1- An EU-US Merger

Step 2- The Institution of Highly Enlightened, Highly Advanced and Highly Evolved Global Policies

Step 3- Aid to Africa and beyond

Step 4- The Inclusion of the rest of the Nations into the Global Union

P.S. - A shift from the old unregulated short-term oriented "Free Market Economy" to the new regulated long-term oriented "Fair Market Economy" (A Green Market Economy)

P.S.S. - Pay Rate/Scale dependent on level and degree of Overall Contribution to Humanity

P.S.S.S. - One "Monetray Unit" to free up the money system to print money at will to allocate accordingly

"Leo,
An interesting vision. And while I would not be opposed to it in the ideal, the practical implications seem abit overwhelming. If Ken Wilber is correct, and only 1-2 percent of the world is at yellow or above, then we may have to wait another generation or 3 to see this plan through to a gentle beginning. Just to many people on the planet still dealing with their magical or mythical past let alone those strung out in the mental world chasing the latest technological rage....."Current" technology not included...LOL... Good luck... Littlesigh"

A little about us:

We are movement artists - we create movement, inspire movement, we document it, share it, teach it and are constantly engaged in the act of promoting self exploration through it.

This collective consists of activists of all flavors who are dedicated to the creation of dynamic hybrid works. We hold the belief that it is the social responsibility of the artist to build support networks, create open source forums and knowledge banks related to but not limited to our crafts. Moreover, to create the ripples that will spread cultural awareness and the kind of curiosity that leads to self exploration. Because of this, we work hard to connect with local talent in an effort to consistently push this forward.

Our lives, our heARTs and our rehearsals are all intermingled. We train hard and party hard - all with the understanding that each moment is to be considered a unique chance for skill sharing and think-tanking. It is crucial for the growth of us all - for opportunities like these to be recognized so that each artist comes into their full potential by means of learning how to be both teacher and student, curator and collaborator.

We are here because we love our art. We think about it night and day. We eat, sleep and breathe it. And, like nervous parents - we squint hard to get a glimpse into the future, to see what a fine adolescent it has the potential of becoming. We are mad and slightly obsessive. We perform because it hurts too much not to.

We are thoughtful in our approach to the craft. We know that we were put on this earth to motivate and educate. Moreover, we are proactive and ready to fight - mainly for the sustainability of our heART form(s).

We are creative activists with a diy method of living. Perhaps you too are a gipsy, with a grand itinerary full of travels intended to help you touch and share and learn. Perhaps you have work to do right where you are sitting. In any case, we are here and so are you.

:)

Sometimes BDSM toys are more of a distraction than a help in conducting a scene. There are dozens of ways to play without using any toys. These span every category of BDSM play. Tonight we will learn and practice many of them, with emphasis on many toy-free forms of sensation, bondage, and impact play.

After this class, you'll always be prepared to play, even if you didn't plan for it, or if the TSA "lost" your toybag. But more importantly, you gain confidence in being free of the props. You'll know how to construct a whole scene without toys, and how to augment any toys you do have. No luggage, no expense, no cleanup - just good connection.

This is a hands-on playshop. We'll do guided exercises in toy-free techniques. You may also bring your general toy bag for the open practice period.

The evening has four parts (times approximate):
7 - 7:30 Brown Bag Munch
7:30 - 8:00 Presentations
8:00 - 9:30 Guided Hands-on exercises
9:30 - 10:30 Open practice or play

If you have questions you may write to edukink at yahoo dot com

No materials fee. *grin*

Double the fun: Florentine Flogging playshop

at SF Citadel, in SOMA district of San Francisco

This playshop focuses on so-called "Florentine" flogging - using two similar floggers, one in each hand. This workshop teaches several two-handed techniques, including chases, butterfly, fanning, and three-beat weave. Double flogging greatly extends your repertoire and versatility.

This is a second-level flogging playshop. You'll get more out of it if you already have solid skills in one-handed flogging (in each hand), and perhaps have tried two-handed. Good preparation is to practice flogging with your "off" hand. During the presentation we will not repeat introductory flogging material. However, during the hands-on part, we'll work with each attendee at whatever is their current level. The class is aimed at intermediate and advanced players, but may be suitable for some relative beginners.

This is a hands-on playshop. Bring floggers if you have them, but you don’t need to bring anything. Flogging practice equipment will be available if you don’t have your own. You may also bring your general toy bag for the open practice period. You might also want a target pillow.

We use special techniques borrowed from other disciplines, to make learning the more intricate moves faster and easier.

The evening has four parts (times approximate):
7 - 7:30 Brown Bag Munch
7:30 - 8:00 Presentation and Demos
8:00 - 9:30 Guided Hands-on Double Flogging practice
9:30 - 10:30 Open practice

Paideia (“pie DAY ah”) is a Greek word meaning “learning through play”. Paideia evenings are more than regular workshops. First we socialize. You may bring your dinner or snacks to eat during the munch period. Then we see demos. Then we do the guided hands-on workshop. You’ll mainly work in pairs learning and refining your skills. Then during the open practice period, you may integrate your new skills with other play techniques. Or you may do more practice, or watch the variety of techniques that others practice.

Partners: You can practice solo, e.g. on a pillow, or in pairs. It’s better to prearrange a lab partner, rather than try to pair up during the munch period.

What attendees have said:

"I learned so much faster with it broken down this way."

"At last I can do that cool flogging."

“Paideia offers an amazing array of play styles. I’m really extending my range.”

Hot Wax play can vary from a warm sensual scene, to a form of bondage, to pain, to theater, to terror. Wax can be delivered from a lit candle, or many ways from a melter. Each gives different sensations. We cover all techniques, and how to choose equipment and supplies. And we’ll debunk some widespread misconceptions. This is not related to “Brazilian waxing” type hair removal.

You’ll learn how to play with hot wax, how to keep it safe, and how to minimize the mess. The class is aimed at intermediate or advanced players, but may be suitable for some beginners.

This is a hands-on playshop, not just a demo or brief sample. We’ll teach and demonstrate the range of play, then coach you through your own experiments. We provide complete loaner equipment. Wax can be hard to remove from clothing. You’ll want to be careful, or bring/wear expendable clothes, or be undressed. The evening is clothing optional. This is popular evening.

The evening has four parts (times approximate):
7 – 7:30 Brown Bag Munch
7:30 – 8:30 Presentation and Demos
8:30 - 9:30 Guided Hands-on Wax practice
9:30 - 10:30 Open practice.

You don’t need to bring anything. You may bring your general toy bag for the open practice period. Undressing is permitted and common, but not required.

Partners: Hot Wax play can be practiced alone or in pairs/groups. It’s better to prearrange a lab partner, rather than try to pair up during the munch period. If you want to find a suitable partner in advance, we recommend you join and post on http://edukink.tribe.net and/or http://fetlife.com/groups/1780

Dog N Pony - animal role play party
Saturday, May 30, 2009
8pm – 1 am
”Pets on Parade” at 9:30
SF Citadel
1277 Mission St at Ninth St, San Francisco
$25

A gorgeous show pony, a well-trained police dog, a pile of romping kittens, a latex stallion pulling his mistress’s cart, a shiny zebra, a leather wolf, a leopard, bunnies, lemurs, manatees, and meerkats – animal role play creates magic for the participants and observers.

The Saturday party is usually the busiest event of the weekend. The place is packed with animals, handlers, furries, littles, and various kinksters. We’ve had over 30 species attend. There's a lot of romping and interaction.

The party provides stables, lunging, and grazing areas for ponies and large animals, plus cages, romp, and training areas for dogs and small animals. And plenty of laps and scritches for kitties and lap pets. There are also social areas and large bdsm play spaces with dozens of stations.

Those new to pet play will have a chance to try it (if they like), under the guidance of experienced players. This includes both new handlers and new animals. Experienced players will have an opportunity to discuss their experiences, and demo their style. It’s also a good chance to find new partners.

About 9:30 on Saturday we’ll begin our “Pets on Parade” segment. This allows anyone to show off their identity, tack, or style. It can be a routine or just a walk through. Preparatory coaching is available both Friday and Saturday.

All events are anyone 18 and over. All genders and orientations. RSVP not required. SFCitadel membership ($10/year, available at the door) required for the Saturday night party - one member may bring in up to three guests. No photography or recording devices.

Costumes admired, but not required. We suggest everyone wear something special (animal, trainer, fetish, sexy, leather, evening wear, club wear, all black, etc), rather than plain street clothes.

To be clear: 1) This is a participatory experience, rather than a staged theatrical performance. 2) Everyone involved is an amateur, though many are quite dedicated and skilled. 3) This is about humans role playing with other humans, there are no non-human animals involved.

If you've never been to a party in a dungeon before, we have some notes that tell you what to expect and how to behave. Although at Dog N Pony there's more romping, petting, sniffing, and prancing.

Volunteer slots and work exchange available. See DogNPony.org/volunteers

 Hello Lovely Peoples!

We are second year burners looking to create a majority person of color camp for Burning Man 2009. For us, Burning Man is a wonderful experimentation of how the world could be. We want to bring to that experience an inclusive space where people of color have a strong presence rather than playing an anecdotal role. In the default world we find people of color working together towards creating a positive existence and finding strength in that solidarity. We want to bring that element of strength in solidarity to the playa. We don’t know what will come out of this but we are ready and excited for the journey. We hope to create not just a haven for people of color, but an instrument for our unique creative and cultural contributions.

So far we are women of color in our thirties who refuse to fit into anyone’s box, even though we might like to decorate it for you. One is a hula hoping, crafty PhD candidate whose dance moves makes the entire crowd stop and watch. One is a Japanese speaking, community organizing, dreaded yogi master of both the culinary and flirtation arts. Our cultures are integral elements of our personalities and help to make us the creative, fun, and thriving individuals we are. What does that mean exactly? That’s up for discovery and EVOLUTION (this year’s theme).

Calling on all appreciators and participaters, hip hoppers and indie rockers, self-loving and self-celebrating mothers, brothers, sisters, fathers, grandstanding bootie shakers as well as reserved observers. We want to meet you and start planning this year’s evolutionary experience as soon as possible.

If interested in making some new friends, going to burning man, and exploring this idea with us please get in touch.

 Effective Flogging, a Paideia playshop
with Angela and Iain
at SF Citadel, in SOMA district of San Francisco
1277 Mission St at Ninth St
Thursday, May 14th, 2009
doors 7:00, workshop 7:30 - 10:30 PM
$15 - $25, sliding scale

http://sfcitadel.org

This workshop solidifies your flogging techniques. It is suitable for beginners, but aimed at intermediates who want to improve and extend their skills. We cover the psychology of flogging, and both common and uncommon techniques - making you more versatile and effective. Learn and practice twelve basic single-flogger strokes, and know when to use them. Practice integrating flogging into whole scenes.

This workshop is the foundation for all our other flogging workshops, including the Double/Florentine workshop, and the unique Inverted Double flogging.

The evening has four parts:
7 - 7:30 Brown Bag Munch
7:30 - 8:45 Demos and Tips
8:45-9:45 Hands-on Workshop
9:45-10:30 Open practice, using flogging in a scene of your choice.

You don’t need to bring anything. Flogging practice equipment will be available if you don’t have your own. But if you have floggers, bring them. You may also bring your general toy bag for the open practice period. You might also want to bring a target pillow and/or a sheet, towel or blanket.

Paideia (“pie DAY ah”) is a Greek word meaning “learning through play”. Paideia evenings are more than regular workshops. First we socialize. You may bring your dinner or snacks to eat during the munch period. Then we see demos. Then we do the structured hands-on workshop. You’ll mainly work in pairs learning and refining your skills. Then during the open practice period, you may integrate your new skills with other play techniques. Or you may do more practice, or watch the variety of techniques that others practice.

Partners: Some of the exercises are done solo, others are more effective done in pairs. It is better to prearrange a lab partner, rather than try to pair up during the munch period. If you want to find a suitable partner in advance, you can post on http://edukink.tribe.net or http://fetlife.com/groups/1780

= =

What attendees have said:

“It’s given me confidence and a lot more options.”

“Thorough and pragmatic. Very effective.”

“A class, a mini-party, and a munch. The best way to spend a Thursday. It’s already on my calendar for next month.”

= =

“Effective Flogging” is part of the Paideia Series of monthly BDSM/leather events / workshops mainly for those of intermediate or advanced experience. The format intends to combine the best elements of hands-on workshops, a munch, a play party, and a peer workshop. More than a dozen topics are planned for these workshops, on both common and exotic topics. We are a study group who want to increase the depth and breadth of our play, while having fun.

Cigar and Port Social at NWLC
sponsored by Society of Janus
hosted by Angela and Iain
at Northwest Leather Celebration / Northwest Master-slave contest
in Sunnyvale, CA
Saturday, April 18th, 2009
Conference Fri-Sun, this social 9-11 pm on Saturday

http://edukink.tribe.net
http://EduKink.org

Conference Registration (day or weekend) available and required.

After the Saturday evening contest and run show at NWLC, many attendees retire to the outdoor pool and hot tub terrace for conversation and complimentary array of ports and cigars. Port is a luxurious fortified dessert wine, usually red. This social is part of the conference, and so requires conference registration. Sponsored by Society of Janus since it's inception in 2008, and hosted by Angela and Iain.

Suggested attire ranges from formal leathers to fetishwear to swimwear / hot tub wear. As the evening progresses, you may want to add a warmer layer. The pool is brisk, but the hot tub is open and gets used. Sometimes people get served port or cigars in the hot tub -- more kinky decadence. A covered area is available, as well as space heaters. Some attendees decline the cigars and/or port - the social part is the key. Being outdoors, the smoke is less of a problem for the many non-smokers in attendance. And for some, this is their only cigar of the year.

The energy of the social is a nice blend of leather protocol, relaxed mingling with local and national people, and celebration of the NWMs contestants.

Conference Registration (day or weekend) available and required.

Many people are attracted to "whips and chains", but don't like the notion of pain. We describe a wide range of BDSM techniques that do not require pain, and are suitable to add excitement to your current erotic repertoire. This playshop first looks at the physiology of pain, and ways to avoid or minimize it. We then look at dozens of specific techniques. There will be chances for hands-on exercises for several techniques. Widen your erotic repertoire and discover just how far you can take it without its hurting.

= =

The evening has three parts (times approximate):
7 - 7:30 Brown Bag Munch
7:30 - 9:30 Presentation, Demos, Guided Practice
9:30 - 10:30 Open Practice

Reservations not required. Membership not required. You don't need to wear anything special. The event is open to anyone 18 years and older with a sincere, positive, personal interest in BDSM / leather / kink. All roles, genders, and orientations welcome. If you have questions you may write to edukink at yahoo dot com

= =

Angela and Iain are officers in the Society of Janus, Dungeon Monitors for SF Citadel and elsewhere, and teach BDSM classes at all levels, at many venues. Their teaching style combines humor and approachability with clarity and thorough research.

= =

What attendees have said:

"Lots of new ways to connect."

"Such a relief."

“A class, a mini-party, and a munch. The best way to spend an evening. I come every month, no matter what the topic.”

= =

“Scenes Without Pain” is part of the Paideia series of monthly BDSM/leather events / playshops mainly for those of intermediate or advanced experience. The format intends to combine the best elements of hands-on workshops, a munch, a play party, and a peer workshop. More than twenty topics are covered in these playshops, on both common and exotic topics. We have a core study group who increase the depth and breadth of their play each month, as well as have fun together.

The Tenth Annual Dog and Pony Weekend
(a non-commercial erotic role play event)
May 29-31, 2009 in San Francisco

A weekend of human pets, including two open parties, a day of classes, vendors, and a park outing.

A gorgeous show pony, a well-trained police dog, a pile of romping kittens, a latex stallion pulling his mistress’ cart, a zebra grazing at FSF, a leather wolf – animal role play creates magic for the participants and observers.

Puppy play, pony play, and other animal role-play, is deeply rewarding in many ways. It allows you to be both submissive and powerful at the same time. You become primal, noble, and beautiful. Experienced players become pre-verbal and enjoy a different reality. It’s a profound way to leave behind human cares. For handlers, trainers, and owners, it’s a delight to work with such wonderful creatures.

This event grows every year. We had about two hundred attendees last year, among the five events. It may be the oldest and largest event of it's kind in the world.

For further information, as it becomes available, join one or both of:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Dog-n-Pony
http://tribes.tribe.net/Dog-n-Pony

All events open to anyone 18 and over. All genders and orientations. RSVP not required. No photography or recording devices.

To be clear: 1) The staff are all volunteers. This is a labor of love, not a business. 2) This is a participatory experience, rather than a staged theatrical performance. Everyone involved is an amateur, though many are quite dedicated and skilled. 3) This is about humans role playing with other humans, there are no non-human animals involved.

Mummification is both one of the easiest and most advanced forms of bondage. It can be deeply calming. It also can serve as restraint, display, or objectification. Tonight we see and do several types of mummification, including rope, cloth, and plastic. We'll also cover a dozen exotic forms of full-body bondage, such as human buffet, and suspension mummification.

You don't have to bring anything, but you're encouraged to bring toys to try in combination with the mummification - sensation and impact toys work well.

Mummification scenes work best when someone assists the top, so you'll be encouraged to partner up.

The evening has three parts (times approximate):
7 - 7:30 Brown Bag Munch
7:30 - 9:30 Presentation, Demos, Guided Practice
9:30 - 10:30 Open Practice

Reservations not required. Membership not required. You don't need to wear anything special. The event is open to anyone 18 years and older with a sincere, positive, personal interest in BDSM / leather / kink. All roles, genders, and orientations welcome. If you have questions you may write to edukink at yahoo dot com

Angela and Iain are officers in the Society of Janus, Dungeon Monitors for SF Citadel and elsewhere, and teach BDSM classes at all levels, at many venues. Their teaching style combines humor and approachability with clarity and thorough research.

What attendees have said:

"I got all wrapped up in the class."

“I was just hanging around.”

“A class, a mini-party, and a munch. The best way to spend an evening. I come every month, no matter what the topic.”

“It's a Wrap! Mummification” is part of the Paideia series of monthly BDSM/leather events / playshops mainly for those of intermediate or advanced experience. The format intends to combine the best elements of hands-on workshops, a munch, a play party, and a peer workshop. More than twenty topics are covered in these playshops, on both common and exotic topics. We have a core study group who increase the depth and breadth of their play each month, as well as have fun together.

I can see how I lost track of where all the Pervs hang out. Making my videos takes a lot of time and concentration, and now that I'm on Fetlife.com I can see how Fetlife's drawn away so much of the participation from Tribe and the traditional e-mail discussion lists. I've found lots lots of groups and topics which interest me, including those in kinky photography and videography and even more sources for Kinky Barbie photos. I also like how fast Fetlife interacts and the way Fetlife quickly forwards the start of a new topic immediately so I can even follow Fetlife discussions on my iPhone while at work.

In this mid-winter month, full of symbols of purification, and hope for renewal, we turn to the element of fire to warm our bodies - and warm our hearts.

Fire both frightens and fascinates us. Like a living creature, it breathes, and dances, and when it is raging, it roars. Fire is a symbol of protection and purification. In the story of the Phoenix, we see destruction and rebirth.

Like Brigid's fire, passions can rage and burn and consume us. Or like Hestia's hearth, they can burn softly, like glowing embers.

So, let us welcome Fire, the element of the South. Ignite your passions, and bring us your heat!

Just in time for Valentine's. Nothing says romance like dunking your sweetie in chocolate. Literally. Tonight we focus on painting warm thick chocolate onto ourselves and each other. Then finding fun ways to remove it. This play can also be done both large and in delicate mehndi style. This is our tastiest playshop. It combines touch, taste, smell, art, imagination, and intimacy.

We'll look at the origins of chocolate cravings. Half of women surveyed said they'd choose chocolate over sex. Now you don't have to choose. And we'll see how to make chocolate healthy for you!

We cover the practicalities of using chocolate in erotic play, and learn how to avoid each of the potential problems. What are the most effective tools and ingredients? We'll use mainly strong dark chocolates, at 72%, and provide all the equipment and materials. After a demonstration and discussion, we'll all practice it ourselves in a sensual, romantic setting.

This is a messy, hands-on, clothing optional event, mainly aimed at couples and groups that want to play and learn together. It is suitable for beginners to advanced.

RSVPs to edukink@yahoo.com (subject: "RSVP chocolate") strongly requested, but not required. We need to estimate the amount of materials to provide.

The evening has four parts (times approximate):
7 – 7:30 Brown Bag Munch
7:30 – 8:30 Presentation and Demos
8:30 - 9:30 Guided Hands-on Chocolate Play practice
9:30 - 10:30 Open practice.

You don’t need to bring anything. You may bring your general toy bag for the open practice period. Undressing is permitted and common, but not required. This gets messy. Bringing a washcloth or change of clothes would be good. We have sinks, but no access to a shower.

Partners: Chocolate play can be practiced alone or in pairs/groups. It’s better to prearrange a lab partner, rather than try to pair up during the munch period. If you want to find a suitable partner in advance, we recommend you join and post on http://edukink.tribe.net

Reservations not required. Membership not required. You don't need to wear anything special. The event is open to anyone 18 years and older with a sincere, positive, personal interest in BDSM / leather / kink / fetish / sensuality. All roles, genders, and orientations welcome. If you have questions you may write to edukink at yahoo dot com

-The poet can help the novelist with compelling language,
-A slam poet can show the memoir writer how to give a story voice,
-The journalist can help the poet with clarity and accessiblity,
-The playwrite can help with dialogue,
-the SciFi writer can bring imaginative ideas to a play,
-etc. etc. etc...

-in other words: *no more preaching to the choir!*
Get your message across and your story heard
