The Apple Video IPOD and It's One Major Disappointment
I am a loyal customer and follower of Apple products for several years. I have owned the IPOD Shuffle, the IPOD Nano, and now two Video IPODs. My biggest complaint is that all 4 models of the IPODs that I have owned have all met the same fate. The internal components have rusted due to moisture and/or body sweat & minereals. Of course I have purchased the leather cases, the so called "weather resistant/water proof" cases for my IPODs and yet they all have met the same fate "rusty death." I can remember when the first walkman cassette players were introduced to consumers the industry quickly created a weather and water proof walkman for consumers. You would think a light bulb would have gone off in the brain of one of the developers and/or engineers of the IPOD to quickly create a "realistic" water and weather proof IPOD for consumers??? Instead, Apple engineers focused on 30G and 80G models of the IPODS and colorful cases for the Nano and Shuffle. Variety is the "spice of life" but so is durability. Don't misunderstand me, I loved and love the variety of IPODS I have owned. The IPODS are easy to operate and very portable for the professionals and athletes that are always on the go. I would suggest the IPOD to everyone in the world that is looking for an easy to operate and portable storage device. For the hardcore serious athletes, I would suggest we petition Apple to create an affordable weather and water proof IPOD model(s). Trust me if you sweat a lot while exercising, your IPOD will eventually rust internally and externally within in one year more or less whether you have a nice leather case or a so called "weather resistant case." Feel free to comment or if you have an extra $100 to $400 you can put the IPOD to the weather and water resistant test yourself.
